If you are like me, you probably have wondered at certain milestones of you career path (like right after a layoff): should I become a professional photographer for the National Geographic Magazine, or maybe for the PLAYBOY Magazine? Hmmm... tough choice. Lucky for you, this DVD will help you make up your mind.
"National Geographic - The Photographers" begins by presenting the common perception of how glamorous it is to work as photographers for the National Geographic Magazine, and then let the photographers tell you what their jobs are really like: a lot of hard works.
The program is both informative and entertaining for anyone who is interested in photography. We see that in most cases, the photgraphers have to overcome great difficulties or even risk their own lives to capture those wonderful pictures. Yet in some cases, all it seems to take is being in the right place at the right time, and having the right "eye" for the perfect picture.
The only criticism I have with this DVD is the video resolution: it appears to be the same quality as the VHS tape version. Higher resolution would definitely help the viewers to appreciate works created by those master photograpgers. However, if you really want to view those pictures in their full glorious details, go read the book titled "National Geographic - The Photographs". |
