Definitely a great collection of experimental animation. Worth it to rent just for Creature Comforts and Balance. But each short is a must-see for animation enthusiasts. My only complaint is that it is out of print and the only used copies you can find are $120 and up!

two of the greats, and lots of good ones! by DPOWERS October 3, 2002 - 10:10 AM PDT

short animation can be brilliant! often point of view is a limitation for a longer story - a weird outlook gets boring when it stretches on too long. but take a pretty "straight" short like creature comforts (hilarious documentary interviews with zoo animals) or crac! (the history of french quebec, through the eyes of a rocking chair), and you're really moving the world around in your mind, quite fun. plus the two of them are affectionate looks at people, full of background detail and life.
