Blood for Dracula (Criterion Collection) back to product details

Very campy. There are some scenes which I think were intended to be serious, but end up being silly. The acting is horrible with a few exceptions. In some scenes, you can almost see the actors looking off camera to be fed their next line. The story moves very slowly. There are so many differant versions of the dracula story that I didn't realize that non-virgin blood couldn't be consumed by a vampire. The scenes of Udo Kier vomiting non-virgin blood (violently) are overacted and over the top. The final showdown between Dracula and the handyman involves many limbs being hacked off with an axe which reminded me too much of the Black Knight scene from "Monty Python and The Holy Grail". I just had to laugh at that one.
