I was a little unimpressed with it while I was watching it, but you have to sit back and realize that this was 1969. This is one of the first films like this, so when you watch it now and think you've seen it all before it's because so many people got into film because of Easy Rider.

Sure it's a little hippie dippy and I was just a little put off by Dennis Hopper's character - he was just too stoned for me - but I think both Fonda and Nicholson were awesome. It has, I thought, a very shocking and moving ending, especially after all of the slow shots of American landscapes and music. It gets dark and crazy, and the closed minded people of America shut down the freedom and love that could have been.

I suggest watching it at least once.

The only redeeming part of this movie is when Jack Nicholson is in it. Other than that 10 minutes the movie is borrrrrring.
