Okay, so the storyline here won't change your life. If you want that, Green Cine has an excellent collection of other titles.
But the animation here is eye candy in an extreme sense. The dogfights are intense, the backgrounds beautiful, the colors arresting. And let's not forget the Sharon Apple concerts...
Oh, and the soundtrack is Yoko Kanno. Need I say more? |

| ...is what you'll say after plugging into this anime. You want dogfights? You'll get childhood friends going at it at Mach 5 in fighter planes that turn into giant robots. You want romance? You'll get a love triangle that spans space and time. You want bad synthesizer music? Well, you won't get there here, what with Yoko Kanno's excellent soundtrack. If you're a fan of the original Macross, you'll dig this. If you're new to anime, rent this one and see what kind of high octane action anime can deliver. |
