Kind of a comedy-drama-horror movie. Some familier names (Kim Cattral, Udo Kier, Casper Van Dien, Robert Pastorelli, Rod Steiger) in a forgetable film. From the interviews with the actors in the extras section, you get the impression that they got involved in this film between other projects and it shows. From their performances it looks like they were just having some fun on their days off. Udo Kier, who has played vampires in other films, fits the role perdfectly but has a small part is killed off quickly. Good if you're not looking for a "serious" vampire film.

Lesbian Vampires

Not all lesbian vampire stories are trash. Some of these are, but at least they're fun trash. Others are actually good. I could insert several comments about why lesbian vampires are so common in (more modern?) fiction, but the reasons are too varied.

"Vampire movies" versus "movies with vampires"

Vampire movies are about seduction/conversion to evil, about power, and/or about the tangibility of evil. Usually all three. Movies with vampires use bloodsucking, immortal characters as foils, exposition, and/or action. I like both.
