| Just the presence of Max von Sydow and Topol, not to mention the Queen soundtrack, should be enough to entice you. Unless you're allergic to campy science fiction, you can't fail to be pleased by this cheerful classic. I love the forced marriage of Dale to Ming the Merciless. The officiating priest asks the ritual question, "Do you promise not to blast her into space. ." [chilling glare from Ming] ". until such time as you may grow tired of her?" Flash is the all-American hero; Dale is the girl next door. Ming's daughter is gorgeously evil. A young Timothy Dalton is Errol Flynn re-incarnate. |
