Although I ordinarily wouldn't have planned to rent this one, I had heard, from somewhere, reasonably good things about it, so I figured what the hell. Given that, my expectations were reasonable, and in general the movie met them. It's a relatively entertaining watch, though it doesn't hold up under heavy scrutiny. If you just go with it and let the story carry you along, you'll be rewarded by very attractive filming, nice locations, good costuming, and good action sequences. The dialog's nothing to write home about, but isn't bad. I've found Banderas to often be rather stiff, which works better in the context of his role here than it usually does. Don't be fooled by Omar Sharif's high billing -- he's not in the film for long at all. In short, if you're looking for a relaxing evening's entertainment, you could definitely do worse, but don't expect too much.
