A group of hard-partying teens fall prey to a family of cannibalistic killers in director S. Lee Taylor's throwback survival horror feature following in the tradition of The Hills Have Eyes and Wrong Turn. Still coming down from the buzz of a desert rave, seven teens make the mistake of their lives when they opt for a desert shortcut that's not on the map. As the night wares on and the clan of killers descend upon the unsuspecting teens, the only hope for survival is to turn the tables on their tormentors and show them that they aren't about to go down without a fight. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide

| I don't usually write reviews, but this movie seems like it could get lost in the mix. And that'd be a shame because it's a really fun, likable B (okay, maybe C) Horror Movie. The cast is very appealing and seem to be having a great time. The story flows smoothly with plenty of gags and scares. It even has a proper story arc that makes sense! The only drawback I saw was the evil cannibals' costumes--they looked more like drunken frat boys. But did ya see them girls in the short shorts? Also, the cinematography alone makes this film worth watching. Seriously, it's beautiful! Who knew? Don't have huge expectations or take it seriously, but do check it out. If you're looking for fun, you'll enjoy this very indie popcorn horror. |
