The film is en español. No subtitles. It might be of interest to people studying the problem of undocumented workers and the semi-official Mexican view of this problem. The was produced about the time of "Operation Wetback" in the USA.

The story is told as a warning to paisanos not to be lured by the promise of big money in the USA. It was filmed in Ciudad Juárez and does a good job of evoking the Juárez of the 1950's (at least as I remember it) Much of it is realistic, but some of it is way off. There is one big watch tower overlooking the river and the coyotes are dumb enough to bring a string of pollos directly to it so the evil gringos can pick them off one by one with their rifles.
