| Maybe it's not enough to just say thank you for making this film, but that's how I feel after watching it. As a lesbian who has stuggled with gender identity, this film was very touching to me. In some ways, it devotes slightly more time than I think it should to the Army side of the story, and less than I think it should to the love that Barry and Calpernia share. The story is very moving as it sets the stage for Barry's attack, and it served to remind me that love is very precious, life is too short, and there really are monsters in this world ready to pounce on anyone who is different. |
