Miki Koishikawa's world is turned upside down when her parents tell her they are divorcing, swapping partners and are all going to live together under one roof. It's hard enough being a teenager, but dealing with new parents, a cute step-brother and all her friends' problems is almost too much to take!
Disc One contains episodes 1-6:
- I Want to Fall in Love
- Side Effects of a Kiss
- Two Kisses
- Ginta's Confession
- Legend of Lovers
- Love Game

| This anime is truly perfect if you're looking for some angsty teen drama and romance. You'll come to love the characters so much that it's impossible to stop watching. With multiple love triangles(and maybe even quadrangles), constant emotion, believable and interesting characters, and over 50 episodes, this series is a powerhouse that you'll not soon forget. |

I just love cute romance animes, so Marmalade Boy is definitely up there on my list. It tends to play out like a teenage soap opera you might find on the WB, but it's a notch above in many respects.
Without starting a dub/sub war, I'd just like to throw in my 2 cents about this particular dub. It's not bad, but it's not great because the characters voices just don't seem to fit them. Miki is the star of this anime and her voice is so cute and sweet in the Japanese version, but in the dub, she just sounds a little too old for my liking, but it's up to you, the viewer. Try the first episode subbed, then the second dubbed, then make your decision. If you liked Hana Yori Dango aka Boys Over Flowers, you will probably like this anime as well.
Every episode seems to end as a cliffhanger like Fushigi Yugi does, so if you have no patience, wait a while to rent this one. I think there are about 70 or so episodes, and a movie( a 30 minute one that takes place at the same time/a little before episode one does, but was personally more enjoyed after watching the entire series). |
