The emperor (Chang Chen) and the princess (Faye Wong) are bored of palace life, and so they sneak out of the palace themselves. One day, the princess bumps into a brother (Tony Leung) and a sister (Vicky Zhao) and falls in love with the brother at first sight. However, the princess, who is dressed up as a young gentleman, is attracting the sister. Meanwhile, the emperor falls for the sister. Things quickly become more and more complicated...
