Synopsis
Hazari Prasad was a big time miser. Raaja his only son was the exact opposite of his father. He was the extravagant son of a miserly father. Hazari Prasad had high hopes of vasooling all the money spent by his son by getting him married to a rich man's daughter and getting a dowry in excahange. Mr. Mchra, a millionaire with just one daughter, Madhu, was just the mand Hazari Prasad was looking for. He succeeded in creating a good impression on Mehra. As time passed, Hazari Prasad and Mehra became bosom friends while their children, Madhu and Raaja, hated each other. Their fathers are extremely disappointed. Especially Hazari Prasad, who saw his dreams of a fat dowry going down the drain.

On the other hand, Raaja and Madhu's practical pranks on each other in college take a serious turn. Hate changed to love and their fathers who were waiting for this change are extremely excited and happy. They wasted no time in fixing up a date for their engagement.

On the eve of the engagement, Hazari Prasad's bhanda was broken. Mr. Mehra got to know the truth about Hazari Prasad being a mere scrap-merchant who was pretending to be a milliionaire to trap him and his daughter. He immediately broke off the engagement, humiliated Hazari Prasad and threw him out. The best friends became the worst foes. Madhu and Paaja were warned not to meet each other. Love, as you know, only listens to the heart - the dil. So irrespective of whether their fathers approved it or not, Madhu and raaja kept on meeting and seeing each other. When Mehra got to know of this, he got Raaja beaten up by goondas and Madhu was locked up in the house.

Hazari Prasad on the other hand, was waiting for an opportunity to take his revenge on Mehra for humiliating him. So what if his son Raaja was madly in love with her. Did Hazari Prasad succeed in taking his revenge?

Did Mehra succeed in keeping his daughter away from Raaja? Did the young lovers Raaja and Madhu, inspite of the trials, tribulations and tortures, stay together? Or did they give in to their poarental pressure and separate?
