| I've enjoyed all the Icelandic films I've seen, and NOI is no exception. Iceland appears such a bizarre place--remote, cold, with much less light than dark. Yet its inhabitants cope (often, if these films are to be believed, by adopting a kind of "slacker" attitude). Noi, the character and the film, has certainly adopted it. This may put some people off, but if you keep you eyes, ears, heart and mind open, you'll encounter unusual things here that will keep you on your toes. This is a fairly "uncategorizable" movie--part comedy/drama, all deadpan delight--which should make it catnip for those of you who desire something different. |
