Feeling that they are doing God's will, two Catholic men from Boston set out to kill everyone in this Reservoir Dogs-style vigilante thriller. Brothers Conner and Murphy MacManus (Sean Patrick Flannery and Norman Reedus) take to performing their divine duty against the Russian mob. They massacre a bunch of unsuspecting Mafioso in a scene of absurd violence, then they let more blood in a mass killing of porn shop customers. Instead of getting thrown in jail, they are dubbed "saints" by the Boston Herald, and they are praised by brilliant, tortured, and gay FBI agent Paul Smecker (Willem Dafoe). ~ Jonathan Crow, All Movie Guide

I wished I had sat in the audience when this movie opened just to hear the uproar of the crowd at Dafoe's masterful and startling handling of the script. Every detail masterfully handled from the lavender ostrich boa as he reclined languidly on a divan, to the bed smooching scene with the asian lad, to dangling off a bar stool in an upscale gay bar, to falling drunkenly into a cathedral and questioning a molested priest, to finally appearing at the door in flaming full drag as the evening's entertainment for mobsters. Each actor played over the top his character part. This gang movie with frequent scenes of violent beatings and killings and blood, very much a guy flic, had a noticeable absence of real females/actresses. Merits my nearly highest rating. If you wonder why I have yet to give anything a 10: well, that implies perfection, something this thinly plotted movie approaches.

taken from the thought of twin angels ridding the good people of the evil doers.. the story starts at a bar..(in boston.. how and basically starts the "angels" out.. avenging against russian mobsters for trying to close down there favorite.. pub. but within the tyme the movie starts..and ends.. things change. first off.. the man himself.. mr dafoe appears. as the fbi man sent to capture them.. with more quirks.. and piccadilo's then your average person.. he steals the movie..almost... i've heard of a sequel coming.. althought i don't see where else they can go.. i hope it's good.. don't miss this flick.
