| Fallout, the movie, is worth seeing if you do not expect to sit back and be entertained. Trying to understand how these characters, for the most part, wholly desert each other in their time of mutual need, requires thought and patience; this movie is a lot like homework. The office situation described in the opening scenes reveals some ignorance of how banks and corporations work, however. Boards of Directors typically don't make hiring and firing decisions at the loan officer level; making one bad loan is not likely to get a loan officer fired, as bad loans do happen; there is no discussion as to why this loan was unsecured, as it apparently was. Listening to the version of the movie with the artists' voice overs indicates that these are talented people who really wanted to turn out a quality product, and who worked well with each other. That Fallout would be their final product is disturbing, indeed. |
