The story is good; the CGI Animation is excellent; the voice acting is fine. The background sure looks a lot like Paris. What's not to like? My wife and I have seen it three times; expect to see it again and again yet. Yes, we liked The Incredibles too. Great work, Pixar! |

| I watched this with my teenage son, who also loved Bird's The Incredibles, so we had high hopes for this movie. Unfortunately, we both found the main character (the human Linguini) is unlikeable and charmless, and the more interesting characters (mostly rats- Remy, Emile, the father rat, as well as the human critic Anton voiced by Peter OToole) get short thrifted. The animation was also lacking- we both found the animation (hand drawn) of the rats during the closing credits more lively and interesting than that during the movie itself. Finally, the short "Lifted" is too mean for small children- presumably the target audience of this film. I'd skip this and re-rent the virtually perfect The Incredibles for a fun family evening. |
