| In trying to catch up on all of Shane Meadow's films I came upon this gem. Meadows, and his frequent writing partner Paul Fraser, are experts at manipulating emotions, and this movie proves no exception. However, this movie is uplifting and joyous where most of his other films are soul-crushingly bleak. A true testament to the strength of accidental friendships, and a perfect counterbalance to This Is England or Dead Man's Shoes, I highly recommended this film. |
