My wife and I are always looking for adult-oriented movies that have a good storyline, steamy scenes, and good acting. This movie was almost there, but in the end left us wanting more. We have seen this title on several lists of erotic movies that are good for couples. I really guess that depends on your definition of erotic. It was rather tame for us. The scenes were very well laid out, with an exotic locale and premise and were very artfully shot. They were just too short! And yes, we had the unrated version. What little there was had a pretty high degree of eroticism though.
In my opinion the acting was very good. The story line was a problem though. Really it was the ending that ruined it here. Obviously I don't want to give anything away, but it really was... lacking. The story builds you up and then just kind of walks away without saying a word. Its very disappointing. |

| I am not much for sappy love stories - I'm usually the one laughing at my friends who cry during movies, but this story is so beautiful and the costuming, setting, and music, is all so wonderful, it really makes a total package. I am aware that this is an HBO movie, has mediocre acting, and is chock full of stereotypes and exoticism of east Indian culture, but when it comes down to it, such a great love story. |
